Technology

I have learned that technology can not only be used to attract the attention of students but can also aid in true understanding of standards and concepts. I believe it can also be effective by aiding the teacher in planning and helping create exciting assignments. I believe by using such things as blogs and other on-line tools teachers could assess their students in entirely different ways, as opposed to paper/pencil tests.

This module has helped me think about the impact of the Internet on my students' learning in the following ways . . .

I never knew how many applicable resources are available to use for instruction. The internet can be used not just for entertainment but for many captivating educational opportunities.

This module has helped me think about using standards, CFQs or formative assessment in the following ways:

I should do much more planning upfront with a good unit design. This would allow me to create a better portfolio. Also, using the CFQs forces me to really evaluate how well am I teaching the content standards.

This module has made me think about my role as an instructional designer in the following ways . . .By challenging the types of technology I use in the classroom. Illustrating the importance of good planning for PBL.
